Swarming

Leaning slabs overlap across the frame, each the projected image of a square, so its edges converge in pairs toward points no two slabs share. One slab leads: its bands are the widest in the frame, most of the solid saturated plate lies on it, and every angular shard sits on it. The other slabs hold the same hairline to plate ladder at a finer pitch. The ground the slabs leave open carries a fine crossed ruling.
