Broken arcs lie across one another, each run cut where a later, smaller run crossed it. Where the runs crowd tightest they fuse into solid dark matter, hairy at the edge and cut through by short chords. Elsewhere the ground is worked into grain and needles, edged with dotted arcs that stopped short of it. An arc changes hue midway along its length, where it crosses into another coloured region.
